For Rosey Sopariwala, opening Huntington Learning Center of White Plains is more than a business venture. It is a full circle moment.
Years before becoming a Huntington franchise owner, Sopariwala was a student herself. As a teenager preparing for college, she attended Huntington Learning Center for SAT preparation before going on to graduate from NYU.
“I’m actually a former Huntington student myself,” she shared. “I attended Huntington for SAT prep before going on to graduate from NYU. I often say that Huntington must have worked.”
Today, she is bringing that same opportunity to families in the White Plains community.
A Foundation Built on Entrepreneurship and Education
Sopariwala was born in Gujarat, India, and moved to the United States with her parents when she was just ten months old. Like many immigrant families, her parents came to the country in pursuit of the American Dream.
They went on to build a successful portfolio of hotels and real estate, and Sopariwala grew up immersed in the family business.
“I often joke that I’ve been working in the family business since I was five years old and tall enough to answer the phone,” she said.
That early exposure to entrepreneurship shaped her professional path. She later earned an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship and built a career managing her family’s real estate and hospitality portfolio. In addition, she has lectured at several universities in the New York area on business and entrepreneurship.
Throughout it all, education remained central to her life.
Turning a Personal Value Into a Community Impact
As a mother of two young children, Sopariwala began searching for an opportunity that aligned with both her professional experience and her personal values.
Education had always been a priority in her family, and her own experience with Huntington made the decision feel especially meaningful.
“My husband and I both believe strongly in the power of education,” she said. “Opening a Huntington Learning Center felt like the perfect opportunity to combine entrepreneurship with making a meaningful impact in our community.”
Building a Trusted Resource for Families
Sopariwala officially opened Huntington Learning Center of White Plains in April 2026 with a clear vision for the center’s role in the community.
In the short term, her goal is to establish the center as a trusted academic resource for local families.
“We want parents to know they have a place they can turn to when their child needs extra support,” she said. “Whether that’s building foundational skills in reading or math, preparing for important exams, or developing stronger study habits.”
Over time, she hopes the center becomes deeply integrated into the White Plains community by partnering with local schools, PTAs, and organizations to support student success.
Helping Students Build Confidence
For Sopariwala, the mission goes beyond improving grades. Her focus is helping students develop the confidence that allows them to approach learning with curiosity and determination.
“My goal isn’t just to help students improve academically,” she said. “It’s to help them build confidence and rediscover curiosity about learning.”
She believes that confidence plays a powerful role in shaping how students approach both school and life.
“Curiosity drives innovation,” she said. “When students believe in themselves, there is no limit to the impact they can have on the world.”
Through Huntington Learning Center of White Plains, Sopariwala hopes to create an environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
