For Francisco Alzuru and Peter Lynch, opening a Huntington Learning Center in East Louisville represents the intersection of data-driven decision making, hands-on educational experience, and a shared commitment to helping students succeed.

Together, the partners officially took ownership of the East Louisville center in December 2025, continuing Huntington’s mission of delivering personalized, results-driven academic support to families throughout the community. With approval already in place for a second location in the St. Matthews area, their partnership is built with both immediate impact and long-term growth in mind.
Two Backgrounds, One Shared Purpose
Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Alzuru brings decades of experience in finance, real estate, and entrepreneurship to the partnership. After completing an MBA in Oklahoma City, he spent 25 years managing equity portfolios for investors before transitioning into real estate and property management. In 2023, he relocated to Louisville to establish a property management company, drawn by the city’s strong sense of community and opportunity.
Lynch, originally from Miami, Florida, followed a different path into education. A former collegiate athlete who played football and wrestled, he initially earned a full athletic scholarship before injuries shifted his focus. While in college, he became involved in peer tutoring, an experience that unexpectedly set the course for his career.
“I started tutoring almost by accident,” Lynch shared. “But it stuck. Helping students figure out what wasn’t clicking and watching things finally fall into place was incredibly rewarding.”
That passion led Lynch into the classroom, where he built a career teaching mathematics across nearly every level. His experience spans public, private, and charter schools, teaching students from upper elementary through college-level calculus. After moving to Kentucky, he taught at Presentation Academy, covering subjects including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, and Dual-Credit Calculus.
“That range of experience showed me how learning gaps form and how quickly they can compound if they are not addressed early,” Lynch said. “It also showed me how powerful the right kind of targeted instruction can be.”
Discovering the Huntington Difference
The idea to open a Huntington Learning Center began when Lynch identified the franchise opportunity and brought it to Alzuru. True to his background, Alzuru approached the decision analytically.
“As someone with a finance background, I studied the numbers closely,” Alzuru said. “But through that process, I discovered the real power of the Huntington system and how consistently it produces tangible results for students.”
What stood out to both partners was Huntington’s structured, accredited approach to instruction, delivered by certified teachers and tailored to each student’s specific needs.
“Reading about the improvement in students’ skills from the moment they start was very motivating,” Alzuru added. “It is evident that Huntington helps build self-confidence, which changes a student’s entire attitude toward learning. The system works.”
For Lynch, Huntington aligned directly with what he had seen missing in traditional education.
“The system does not always produce the best outcomes for every student,” he explained. “Huntington identifies where students fall through the cracks and builds a clear, structured plan that actually fits them.”
Building Stability and Trust in the Community
In the short term, Alzuru and Lynch are focused on ensuring stability for both families and staff. That includes clear communication with parents, consistent instructional quality, and a supportive environment where students and educators feel valued.
“Our priority is making sure every student and every staff member feels supported,” Alzuru said. “Families should feel confident that their children will continue receiving the same level of care and results Huntington is known for.”
Lynch’s goal is to grow the center thoughtfully by bringing in more families, expanding the teaching team, and continuing to build a strong reputation rooted in student outcomes.
“We already have a team that genuinely wants to help students,” he said. “My focus is growing from that foundation and making sure our work speaks for itself.”
A Long-Term Vision for Impact
Looking ahead, the partners plan to open additional Huntington Learning Center locations, including a second Louisville-area center in St. Matthews and a future location in Lexington. But expansion is not just about growth. It is about deepening impact.
Both Alzuru and Lynch envision the East Louisville center as a true partner to the community.
“I want our center to be a place families can trust,” Lynch said. “When students succeed academically, it affects their confidence, their choices, and their future opportunities. Strengthening students strengthens families, and strengthening families strengthens the community.”
Alzuru agrees. “When students succeed, the entire community becomes stronger,” he said. “Our goal is to help close learning gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and ensure every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
Through their shared leadership and complementary backgrounds, Alzuru and Lynch are committed to continuing Huntington’s tradition of excellence while building a lasting resource for families across East Louisville and beyond.
